The Importance of having a bowling coach

All of the greatest athletes in the world have a coach or mentor who they look up to for advice, guidance and coaching to help them reach higher levels in their respective sports. Shaquille O'Neill, 7 foot 1 inches tall even has a "free throw shooting coach" to help him get better at shoting from the foul line. OK Bad example! He stinks at free throws and besides we (Phoenix) just traded his butt to Cleveland anyway!!!

OK back on topic... Look at Tiger Woods. Perhaps the greatest golfer the game has ever known. He's certainly the best player on the planet right now, that is for sure. Even Tiger has a swing coach to help him when he gets in a funk or for when his swing just isn't right. It takes a trained eye to analyze and break down a golf swing or a bowling swing and as evidenced by Tiger Woods, even the greatest golfer on the planet NEEDS a coach to succeed at the highest level.

So the question is...Why don't you have a bowling coach???

If you are taking the time to read this bowling article, it tells me a couple of things. 1- You are interested in bowling and, 2-You are interested in geting better at bowling. I congratulate you on taking an effort towards improving your game. Too many times in life we hear people talk about how they want to lose 10 pounds, or they want to make more money at work, or they want to buy a nicer car. But how many of those people are willing to put in the EFFORT to achieve those things in life? It is important to set goals for yourself as a person and as a bowler. So what are YOUR goals???

Do you want to be better than your best friend on your team?
Do you want to raise your average 10, 15, 20 pins?
Do you want to be high average this Fall in your league?
Do you want to shoot your first 300 game?

All of the most successful people in all walks of life have some common denominators in their regular life and in their bowling life. For starters they all set goals and set out to achive them. They are also determined in their reaching for those goals and achieving the success that they want. They are also willing to put in the EFFORT to achieve what they want. Some people are so determined that they obsess about it and absolutely have to have it like in the case of Tiger Woods. Tiger's main goal in his Professional Golfing life is to do one thing. BEAT THE RECORD FOR MAJOR CHAMPIONSHIPS SET BY JACK NICKLAUS. Currently he is on pace to set this record if you compare where Nicklaus was in comparison to Tiger at the same age. The point here is that nothing worth getting comes easy. Whatever you want in life is going to take effort, It is not simply going to drop in your lap. So pick up the phone and call one of your local bowling coaches, set some goals, and improve your game and get it to the level that you want it to be.

The importance of strong legs in bowling

I have written in the past about how important it is to create good knee bend at the foul line to maximize your "Leverage" (pun intended). If you look at most of the top pro's on tour you tend to notice one thing. Many of them are NOT overweight. The old cliche of the heavy beer drinking bowler simply does not apply to the Professional Bowlers Tour anymore. For the most part these guys are fit and keep their weigh under control. What I recommend to all of my bolwing students is the need to do some sort of walking or running program to add leg strength to their bowling game. Not only will it help your bowling game it will improve your daily life and just make you fell better. So set a goal and get on a walking program and build up your leg strenght. It will definitelky help improve your game!
